ACU Foundation Releases Latest Scores of Nebraska Legislature

The Nebraska Legislature gained 10 new conservatives last year, but overall, the legislature’s conservative rating dropped five percentage points from the previous year, according to data released by the American Conservative Union Foundation.


The American Conservative Union Foundation conducts an annual, in-depth analysis to rate all 8,000 lawmakers in America, revealing their positions on a wide variety of issues directly affecting our communities and families.


Nebraska’s top ten legislators on the scorecard are Senator Mike Hilgers (92%), Senator Dave Murman (92%), Senator Steve Halloran (92%), Senator Steve Erdmon (87%), Senator Robert Clements (87%), Senator Julie Slama (87%), Senator Andrew La Grone *86%), Senator Suzanne Geist (86%), Senator Joni Albrecht (86%), and Senator John Lowe (86%).

New Platform Launched to Pressure Nebraska Lawmakers to Vote More Conservative

 

Alexandria, VA— The ACUF, the host of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) will be presenting awards to 15 Nebraska Senators for their conservative voting records. The awards are presented to members who earned a score of 80% or above on the American Conservative Union Foundation’s (ACUF) new scorecard platform, which is designed to hold elected officials accountable to conservative principles.


Review the scorecard to see the ratings of all Nebraska Senators and find out which votes ACUF scored.

“ACUF’s revolutionary new website empowers Nebraskans to identify true conservative champions in the nonpartisan Unicameral,” said ACU Chairman Matt Schlapp. “We are pleased to announce that there are 10 more state lawmakers who voted to uphold conservative principles compared to the previous session.”


The 15 Senators who earned scores of 80% or above include:

ACUF’s Ratings of Congress and Ratings of the States are initiatives of ACUF’s Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA). These ratings are designed to reflect how over 8,000 elected officials across the nation view the role of government while illustrating the differences between chambers of the legislature and revealing lawmakers’ positions on a wide variety of issues that directly affect citizens.

ACU Foundation reviewed each piece of legislation voted on in both chambers of the legislature to produce average scores of each chamber as well as individual scores for each sitting member.
